Pilot

Interested taking to the skies in a career as a pilot?  Male or female, pilots are currently in high demand and your opportunities extend far beyond the airlines. Imagine being at the controls of an aircraft or helicopter transporting passengers, cargo, medical patients, organs, or perhaps fighting fires, doing aerial surveillance or a myriad of other missions that have a huge impact on our everyday lives.  These professionals don’t necessarily need a four-year degree, either.  Learn how you can become a pilot! Hear from professionals who fly professionally today and learn how they got started to become a pilot. You’ll also be able to talk with local flight schools and colleges regarding their flight training programs and how to launch your career as a pilot.

Maintenance Technician

Enjoy working with your hands and figure out how things work?  Maintenance technicians are also in high demand and offers you the ability to work from just about anywhere in the country or world.  You can also specialize in an area that interests you most, like electrical, composites, avionics or a multitude of other specialties. Maintenance technicians come from all backgrounds and can be male or female.  Meet professionals in the area who currently work as a maintenance technician, learn how they got their start and find out where you can get training locally to become a certified Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) mechanic.


Base Operations / Fixed Based Operations

If you’re interested in the hospitality industry and you like airplanes, look no further than a career in Base Ops or at a Fixed Based Operation (FBO).  Here, you’ll work directly with pilots, passengers, management companies, limo and catering companies and others to ensure each flight goes flawlessly.  Whether you like working outside parking and fueling airplanes or you like business administration and concierge services, a career working for an FBO has a little of something for everyone.  Come hear from professionals who work at an FBO today, how they got their start and some of the areas of specialization available at a typical FBO.  Depending on your career path and scholastic interests, there are careers available that require a college degree, and others that do not.  


Air Traffic Control / Tower Operations

If you love video games and handling multiple tasks at once, a career as an air traffic controller might be for you! Air Traffic Controllers are an integral part of our nation’s air transportation system, with high safety standards second to none.  And while technology is rapidly changing allowing for more and more aircraft to take to the skies, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) needs talented individuals guiding these aircraft through our limited airspace.  Meet controllers from around the Denver-area who can answer your questions, talk about how they began their careers and where you can obtain training to pursue an exciting career as an Air Traffic Controller.


Flight Attendant

Do you enjoy traveling, food service and providing a high level of customer service? Life as a flight attendant is one part event planner, one part customer service, one part culinary chef/waitress and one part safety expert.  In short, you make each flight as enjoyable, comfortable and non-eventful as possible for every passenger and pet on board.  Travel domestically or around the world depending on the equipment you’re flying in.  A career as a flight attendant can happen at any age, with any background and can be male or female.  Hear from local flight attendants who work in the field, learn how they got their start and find out how you can pursue a career as a flight attendant.


Scheduler / Dispatcher

Do you enjoy planning events, handling travel arrangements or other logistics?  Do you enjoy a fast-paced job where no two days are alike?  Then a career as a Scheduler or Dispatcher may be for you.  Different than the airlines, a job as a Scheduler or Dispatcher in the general aviation world means learning how to read weather forecasts, plan for the unexpected, managing expectations of passengers and crews, booking hotel rooms, cars and ordering catering and having the ability to balance the needs of your passengers and clients with the requirements of crew, maintenance and other safety requirements of an aircraft operation.  Hear from local professionals who work as schedulers for FAA regulated charter and management companies who are hired to transport passengers on a daily basis.  Learn how they got their start as a Scheduler and what sort of training is needed to pursue a career in this field.  


Airport Operations

Do you like the idea of managing day-to-day operations of a government agency?  Do you enjoy being outside, working with your hands or varied job tasks from day-to-day?  Welcome to the world of Airport Operations!  From snow removal to making sure airport lighting is operational, to working within the requirements of the FAA to ensure a safe operating environment for all aircraft landing and using the airport, Airport Operations encompasses it all.  Hear from local Airport Operations personnel to see what a typical day looks like, how they got their start and where you can go for training or education to start your career in Airport Operations.


Sales / Acquisitions

Do you like talking and interacting with people?  Do you like problem-solving and helping others find solutions?  If you couple that with a love of airplanes, then a career in sales may be for you!  A successful career in sales is all about connecting with people; understanding their needs, pain-points and what problem they’re trying to solve.  Then bringing them solutions that make their buying experience enjoyable and fulfills their needs.  Hear from aviation sales professionals who have been buying and selling airplanes, charter and other aviation services for years, how they got their start, and learn ways to get started yourself in a rewarding career in Sales and Acquisitions.
